Douglas Baker Obituary

Douglas H. Baker

Boynton Beach, FL - Douglas H. Baker was a great man, husband, dad, grampa, great grampa who left this earth peacefully on November 22, 2025. My dad's steadfast care and love resonated in our family, with his colleagues, friends, and neighbors.

In his younger years, my dad took care of the family market in New Ipswich after his dad passed. He then went on to be a successful vice president of a specialty food corporation in Massachusetts for many years before he retired. He bought his dream cottage on Squam Lake where he and my mom enjoyed a beautiful life. My dad found a lot of joy after his retirement working part time at the local Holderness, NH Post Office with his friend, Larry, for several years. He then purchased a home in Boynton Beach, Florida where he and my mom have lived since 2003. He is and will be missed by so many lives that he touched over the years. Thank you for being my dad.

Douglas Henry Baker. Born May 1, 1937. Passed November 22, 2025. He leaves behind his wife Dorothy Ann (Helsberg) Baker, his daughter Suzanne Capizzano (Stephen), grandson Seth M. Hill (Denise), granddaughter Amanda S. Chalke (Alan), great grandson Dawson Chalke, great granddaughters Macy, Iris, Lyla, and Suri Hill, and a brother Richard Baker along with a niece Celeste and nephew Garrett.

His son, Scott D. Baker passed away in May of 2019.

There will be a memorial service planned in the spring of 2026 at the New Ipswich Cemetery in New Ipswich, NH.

i remember two happy people, Dot and Doug, enjoying life together, doing the things that gave them joy. Dot, I would love to see you, maybe at the memorial service if I know when and where.
