Jean-Marc Baril Obituary

NEW IPSWICH - Jean-Marc Joseph Baril, 75, of New Ipswich, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Catholic Medical Center after a sudden illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ste. Elizabeth de Warwick, Quebec to Thomas and Gertrude Baril, he lived his entire adult life in New Ipswich.

Jean-Marc was a gifted gardener and craftsman who took great pride in the homes he had owned. He loved classic automobiles, particularly Camaro's and El Camino's. Beginning in 1957, he came to New Hampshire seasonally to work in Whiting's orchards, returning to work with his father in Canada during the off seasons. In 1961 he enlisted in the United States Army and served for six years. He was honorably discharged in 1967 and worked at Simond's Cutting Tools until his retirement in 2000.

Jean-Marc's greatest joy was time spent with his wife and family at his "paradise" in New Ipswich. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla with whom he enjoyed 24 beautiful years of marriage.

Jean-Marc lives on in his five children, Gisele and her husband, David of New Ipswich; Rochelle and her husband, Randy of Norway, Maine; Geoff of Scarborough, Maine; Laura and her husband, Gary of Escondido, Calif.; and, Kurt and his wife, Elaine of Sunapee. He had nine grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Emilee, Faith, Randy, Israelle, Kristopher, Akaisha, and Marcella, and four great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by five brothers, Leopold, Gilles, Michael, Serge and Claude, and four sisters, Monique, Aline, Helene and Lizette, all of Canada.

The family will hold a celebration of Jean-Marc's life on July 19 at 2 p.m. at the Souhegan Country Club, 290 Old Country Road, New Ipswich. Please come and share your memories with his loved ones. The family will provide light refreshments and bottled water.

Jean-Marc loved spending summer days by the pool at home; the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Jean-Marc's name to the Town of New Ipswich, Town Pool Fund, c/o Elizabeth Pogorzelski, 661 Turnpike Road, New Ipswich, N.H. 03071.

My prayers are with all of you in Jean-Marc's family. I knew him many years ago when he first came to NH. He was a wonderful young man and I'm sure he never changed. May you all find peace in having been part of his life and knowing that he is heaven watching over all of you.
