Joan George Obituary

Joan Edick St. George

Dublin, NH - It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Joan Edick St. George formerly of Dublin, at the age of 92, who left us peacefully on July 8, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and comfort of her family at Spring Village at Summerhill.

Born on March 30, 1933, in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Joan was the beloved daughter of Robert and Lucy (Ervin) Otis. Her life was a testament to devotion, kindness, and an unshakable love for her family. A woman of great strength and grace, Joan was a source of unwavering support to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, offering love, wisdom, and countless memories that will forever live in our hearts.

Joan's greatest joy was found in the presence of her loved ones. She was a constant at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, dance performances, and all the moments that mattered most to her family. Her infectious laughter and encouraging spirit could always be counted on, making her family feel supported and cherished in every way.

A lover of simple pleasures, Joan treasured her time at Wells Beach, Maine, where she would bask in the sun and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of the waves. She also loved shopping, knitting, decorating for the holidays, and spending quiet moments with her family over games of Scrabble and Bingo.

In her earlier years, Joan was a devoted member of the St. Peters/Divine Mercy Women's Guild, where her community spirit and generosity were recognized when she was honored with the Ethel K. Cavanaugh Award in 1997. She also enjoyed participating in the Women's Bowling League at Bowling Acres, where her competitive yet warm nature made her a favorite among friends.

Joan was predeceased by her beloved husbands, Robert Edick (1983) and Joseph St. George (2015), who she shared many happy years with.

Joan's memory will forever be carried by her children: Patricia Hartwell of Dublin, Robert Edick of Dublin, and Michael (Suzette) Edick of Dublin. Her legacy will also live on in the hearts of her seven grandchildren: Michael Hartwell (Bennington, NH), Megan (Phil) Stagnone (Exeter, NH), Thomas (Mira) Edick (New Orleans, LA), Theresa (Taylor) Edick (Concord, NH), and Chad, Philip, and Emily Edick (Dublin, NH). Joan was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Alex and Henry Hartwell, Arlo and Owen Stagnone, and Nelson Kohl-Edick.

A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Joan's life was a beautiful example of unconditional love and joy. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her, but her spirit, kindness, and legacy will live on forever.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH 03458.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 12 Church Street, Peterborough, NH 03458. Bural will follow in Dublin Cemetery, Main Street, Dublin, NH 03444.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joan's name to Dublin Fire and Rescue. The family would like to thank the staff at Spring Village at Summerhill for all of their kindness and loving care.
