New Ipswich, NH - In Loving Memory of John Edward Hayes**
John Edward Hayes passed away peacefully on January 28th, 2025, at the age of 60, with his beloved wife, Plabplueng (Penny) Hayes, by his side in Phetchaburi, Thailand.
Born on August 19th, 1964, in Lynn, Massachusetts, John was the cherished son of Noreen Hayes and the late James Hayes Sr, who passed away in 2020. In addition In to his wife Penny, John is also survived by his son Ian Hayes and his partner Ashley of Keene NH, his daughter Shelly, her husband Dan and their daughter Sophie of Greenfield, NH, his sister: Jackie Skidmore of Vernon, CT and James (Jim) Hayes of NC and his wife Shannon. In addition to his dad, John was predeceased by his two younger sisters, Sheila and Michelle, who remained forever in his heart. His brother in law, Frank Skidmore, also preceded him in death.
John had a dedicated career with Freudenberg and Hollingsworth & Vose and lived in numerous places throughout his life, including Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Carolina, and Thailand.
In New Hampshire, he met his first wife, Jennifer Trio, and they married in 1987. Together, they built their home in New Ipswich and were blessed with two children: Ian Hayes and Shelly Dineen. John adored his granddaughter, Sophie Dineen, who was the light of his life.
After parting ways from his first marriage, John found love again with Penny, and together they created a beautiful life in New Ipswich before moving to Thailand, where he embraced a new chapter filled with joy, family, and friendships.
John was passionate about music-especially The Beatles and Moody Blues-going to Fenway to cheer on the Boston Red Sox, and fixing and collecting just about anything. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and doted on his granddaughter.
In addition to his wife, mother, children and siblings John is survived by several nieces and nephews and 3 great-nieces and many close friends.
John's children will be hosting a celebration of life at the Hancock Depot, in Hancock NH on ,March 29th at 2PM for friends and family who wish to gather in remembrance and honor his life.
