Marie A. (Lash) Talbot
Danvers, MA - Mrs. Marie A. (Lash) Talbot, 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Hathorne Hill in Danvers, Massachusetts. She was the beloved wife of the late Fernand D. Talbot, who predeceased her in April 2022. Together, they celebrated almost 65 years of marriage.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Marie was the daughter of the late Edward and Louisette (Pantalacci) Lash. She was raised and educated in Baltimore and Westminster, Maryland, and received her diploma as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. Marie and Fernand Talbot raised their family in Peterborough, New Hampshire, where they lived for over 30 years. After retirement, they relocated to Salem, South Carolina, and then moved to the community at Brooksby Village in Peabody, Massachusetts to be closer to their family.
As a nurturing and caring woman, Marie thrived in the nursing profession and took great pride in caring for to the needs of her patients. Marie began her nursing career as an Operating Room Nurse, and when living in Peterborough, NH, she worked as a visiting nurse, traveling to surrounding communities to provide care. Marie continued to work while in Salem, South Carolina, volunteering at the local hospital.
A true matriarch, Marie was strong, determined, outspoken, funny, and a fierce protector of her family. She enjoyed staying busy, helping others, and made friends everywhere she went. She cherished the friendships she established in the communities she lived in. She was deeply devoted to her faith, which echoed in all aspects of her life, allowing her kindness and compassion to shine through. Her legacy lives on in all the lives she touched, especially her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Surviving Marie are her daughters, Denise Talbot of Northborough, MA, Lisa Talbot of Charlestown, MA, and Catherine Talbot of San Francisco, CA; her son, Matthew Talbot of St. Albans, VT; her grandchildren, Adam and Emily Genga, and her cherished nieces and nephews, Roger Lash, Diane Kinnear, Renee Bateman, Brian Lash, and Jodie Hudson of Maryland. In addition to her husband, Fernand, Marie was predeceased by her beloved granddaughter, Maisie Emma Talbot, and brothers, Roger and Rene Lash.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Marie's Funeral Mass which will be held at the Brooksby Village Chapel in Peabody, Massachusetts on Monday, October 2, 2023. Visitation will begin at 10 A.M. with the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 A.M. Her Burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA will be private.
