Nathan Steinbach Obituary

Nathan Steinbach

Dublin, NH - Statesboro, Georgia - Nathan Bennett Steinbach, 42 years old, formerly of Dublin, NH., passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 9, 2022, while visiting Georgia. It was a shock to the family, and it has been a sad contrast to the remarkable way he had recaptured his life. He will be missed.

Nathan was born in Dublin, NH Sept. 11, 1980, and spent his youth in tune with the beautiful environment. Avid at sports, he played any sport offered to him and excelled. Imagine Soccer, Swimming, Football, Baseball, Basketball, Skiing and Capture the Flag and everything in between. He was hungry for school work and always seemed to be naturally gifted. His dedication was so conscientious that he made a great friend.

In his late teens, Nate suffered from serious mental illness. He spent many years in the state of NH Mental Health System, living in a shared home in downtown Concord, NH. He worked very hard to come to terms with the reality of what was happening, challenging as it may have seemed to him. While living in Concord he transitioned to independent living, eventually moving to Manchester and then to ST Louis, MO, close to family. He was doing excellent work, gardening, cooking, and just helping out whenever he could. When we needed something, he wouldn't tolerate NO for an answer, he would be there with help and support.

He believed he could take care of himself in any situation and was grateful for what he had, and he faced his future with strength and independence.

Nathan is predeceased by his father, Gary Thomas Steinbach, of Alton, NH, and sister Elizabeth Steinbach, of Simsbury, CT.

Survived by his mother, Rebecca Lawrence, step-father Steven Lawrence, his Brothers, Gabriel (Barbara) of St Louis, MO, Isaiah (Dove) of Meridan, MS, Simon (Suzanna) Fort Collins, CO. James Thomas Steinbach of Morgantown. NC, Stephani Stachniak (Michael) of St Louis, MO. Nieces and Nephews, Addison, Ellory, Setia, Everest, Mary Ann, Ingrid, Kaylee and Matthew.

Many family and friends have reached out with their respects and we are forever grateful for their comfort. It is a great loss to all that truly knew this wonderful person.

In lieu of flowers, please send donation to NAMI, NH, and help support their efforts to make mental health public awareness a priority.

This one really hit home. My heart goes out to Becca, and the boys. Growing up in the small town of Dublin you get to know your neighbors and the Steinbach´s were mine. So many memories of Dublin Summer Playground, the Beach and countless summer field trips with Nathan and his incredible brothers. I can´t help but smile as I write this although holding back tears. Nathan, we´ll see you again - The Big Kahuna!!!

Becca and family-we are so sorry for your loss of Nathan. The Carroll family definitely have a lot of memories of him in the younger years when he and Corey played on several sports teams together. May he rest in peace!

My dear Rebecca, so sorry for your loss. Nate was a gentle man and loved you and your caring soul. He spoke of Heaven in which he now is at peace in Gods loving care! A mother´s love on earth is Gods extension of Himself! I will always love and respect you!!

My deepest condolences to all the friends and family. My name is Richard Wiggins and I work for NAMI NH as a Peer Support in NFI's THS here in Concord. Started in 2009 and got to know Nate through the time he was here and after his release and continued to stay in touch, helped with the move to Manchester. We enjoyed playing pool, he was probably the best resident at the game that I have seen yet. This news really caught me by surprise. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and may peace and many warm and loving times be with you thru the holidays and beyond.
