Ralph Parhiala Obituary

Ralph C. Parhiala, age 85, of Ocala passed away July 8, 2013 at the Legacy Hospice House.

He was born on January 2, 1928 in New Ipswich, NH a son to the late Thomas William and Aina Alexsandra (Perkiomaki) Parhiala.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Everett Parhiala.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Bertha, a son John Parhiala of Orange Lake, FL, two daughters and sons-in-law Joanne and David Smith of St. Louis, Missouri, Barbara and Charles Ruse, Jr. of Ocala, six grandchildren, Jennifer Bozwell, Susan Smith, Julie Cruz, Danielle Laird, Charles Ruse, III, and Christie Parhiala, and six great grandchildren.

He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ocala and was involved in the Laborers for Christ where he assisted in the building of twelve churches throughout the country.

A Funeral Service was held on July 12, 2013 at Our Redeemer Lutheran. His son-in-law, Rev. David Smith as well as Rev. Ronald Mueller and Rev. Joe Adams officiated. Burial followed in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in memory of Ralph. On line condolences may be made at forestlawnocala.com.

Bertha and family . . . so sorry for your loss of this good man in your life. I remember well when he had the station before you moved to FL when I was a kid. Then there was the time I hold in fond memory when He was my #1 carpenter in Claremont, NH the winter you spent in NH in the early '80s. May he enjoy that blessed rest promised to those who love our Lord . . . !
