Richard Kipperman Obituary

Richard Kipperman

Bow NH — On Sunday October 2, 2022, Richard Kipperman passed away at 88 years old; peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Richard (Dick) W. Kipperman was born February 6, 1934 in New York City to Claire (Heidelberg) and Maurice Kipperman; with one younger brother, Robert P. Kipperman. He grew up and graduated from Pelham Memorial High School (Pelham Manor, NY), and continued his education at Arizona State University, graduating with a B.S in 1956. During college, he was the sports editor of his school's newspaper and played tunes as the local Disc Jockey for his college radio station.

On November 24, 1962, Richard married the love of his life, Nancy Stewart, in Wollaston, MA. Shortly after, they had three wonderful children, Bruce, Jeffrey and Amy. Richard and Nancy raised their family in Longmeadow, MA and later moved to Rindge, NH. After retirement, the couple enjoyed several years at Eastman in Grantham, NH before they moved to Fairfield Glade in Crossville, TN and lastly, Dick resided at White Rock Senior Living Community in Bow, NH.

Richard began his career as the Sports Editor for the Yuma Daily Sun, AZ. Later working as the Director of Public and Sports Relations for Springfield College, MA; Western New England College, MA; and then finally, Franklin Pierce College, NH. Richard loved the New York Yankees.

Dick was a true northerner, appreciating all the seasons New England offers, with fall being his favorite. He loved apple pie and a slice of cheddar cheese, coming together for the holidays and spending time with his loving family. He was an avid golfer, a fly fisherman who fished many of New Hampshire's most pristine rivers as well as a photographer, winning several awards. Richard hated raisins and his family always joked about putting raisins in his favorite desserts.

Richard is survived by his three children; Bruce Kipperman (Alice) of Portsmouth, NH, Jeffrey Kipperman (Linda) of Enfield, NH and Amy Lanza (Chris) of Rindge and six grandchildren (Klay Kipler; Ian, Lindsay and Eric Kipperman; Nicholas and Meghan Lanza). His beautiful wife, Nancy Kipperman, passed away October 4, 2018 after celebrating 56 years of marriage.

A private family memorial will be held at the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge, NH where Dick will be placed next to his lovely bride.

Dick was a friend who was a great help to me in our men's bereavement group after my wife passed away. He spoke of his wife, Nan, with such incredible love and appreciation for his many years with her. He was always so cheerful and often shared great stories of his memories which benefitted all in our group. I count Dick a real friend. He will be missed. My condolences to his family, of whom he spoke so often.
