Rose Eleanor Kipperman

Rose Eleanor Kipperman, 100, passed away February 1, after suffering a stroke on January 31.
Rose Eleanor Meiner was born December 18, 1924, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She graduated from Rider College in Trenton with a secretarial degree. She and her husband William (Bill) Kipperman were married more than 70 years, from October 1, 1944, until his death in June 2015.
Eleanor and Bill moved to California in 1951. They lived in imperial Beach from 1951 to 1955, in Coronado from 1955 to 2024, and she moved to Poway in 2024.
Eleanor's husband Bill has the accounting degree, but Eleanor was the one who did the accounting and taxes for them, their relatives, and MJ Brown store. She also owned and ran Uncle Bill's children clothing store for three years.
Eleanor took up a bridge because she was tired of Bill going out and having a good time playing bridge while she sat home. As a player in the American Contract Bridge League, she attained the ranking of silver life master. She became a director and rose to national level, directing and scoring tournaments across the country and in Canada.
She is survived by children, Mark (Molly) and Judy (Gary Hertzberg), six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
