Roberta Tewksbury

Peterborough, NH - Roberta S. Tewksbury, 91, passed peacefully on June 4, 2023 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack NH, surrounded by her family.

Daughter of Eric and Oriel (Norris) Smith, Roberta was born and raised in Massachusetts. She graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and was married to Theodore L. Tewksbury II also from Massachusetts.

The couple moved to Peterborough in 1969 where they established Tewksbury's Fine Handcraft and Art Gallery, a well respected business in the community for 18 years until their retirement to Sharon in 1987. When her husband passed in 1998, Roberta moved back to Peterborough where she enjoyed gardening, walking, and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her son Dr. Theodore L Tewksbury III, her daughter Laura Tewksbury Horne, two brothers Ronald K. and Eric F. Smith, two granddaughters, Sierra and Christina Horne, and her beloved cat, Izzy.

A celebration of her life will be held at MacDowell Lake (Site 2) on Julv 6th at 5:00 pm.

Memorial donations may be made to The Monadnock Humane Society.

Roberta was my longest, best friend - 76 years! We went everywhere together and always laughing and having fun! We could always depend on speaking and confiding in one another. "Robie", as I always called her, will be dearly missed!
