Mr. Breaud, 69, was born in Alexandria, and being a military kid moved with his family to many different bases. He was a graduate of Las Cruces, N.M. High School and at an early age started cooking and serving food to others. Before long he had his own business servicing food contracts to the United States Post offices in Alexandria and Shreveport. Being a legally blind person, he fought for the rights of the blind and was a spokesperson for Randolph-Sheppard Act/Opportunity for the blind in Governmentt Contracts. Through this he bid and won the contract for food service provider at Barksdale Air Force Base and in 2001. His company, Breaud Services Inc., won the contract for food service provider for Fort Polk and moved here and became part of the Leesville/Fort Polk community. He received many awards for excellence and professionalism in food service and was an avid LSU and New Orleans Saints fan. He was a member of the Louisiana Association for the Blind.
He is survived by his children, Clifford and Lisa Breaud of Sara, Miss., David , Lori Breaud of Pollock, Gordon Breaud and Stacey Monk  both of Leesville, and Mark Breaud of Tioga; two brothers, Steve Breaud of Selma, Calif. and Dan Breaud of Hayward, Calif. He was grandfather to nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
