Dear Janet, Stuart, Ian and Merrin,
Roxieanne and I send sincere sympathy and prayerful best wishes on the home going of your dear mother. I remember her particularly from her many activities at Knox Church where she was a blessing to one and all. I also remember each of you as you grew up and I was just a bit older, as well as the times in both our family homes. Your dad's help in linking me with work in the high Arctic during student days is another precious memory.
We give thanks with you that after her long and very meaningful life she now is at home with the Lord. May He continue to bless each of you in this new chapter in your lives.

Dear Janet;
My condolences -- it has been a few years since I saw either you or your Mom, but both your Mom & Dad stand out as so exceptional of the many patients I had the good fortune to take care of for a while. They each contributed in their own unique ways to our great country and were such thoughtful, gentle people. I am sorry for your loss and saddened that I was unable to be there today.

Dr Archibald enjoyed our music programs for many years, and I had some wonderful talks with her over that time. She was a most interesting lady, and I truly enjoyed going to 3rd floor and seeing her in the front row for our programs. I will truly miss her.
May she rest in peace.

Dear Stu, Janet and Merrin:
An amalgam of sadness and joy indeed. The final good-bye and yet the knowledge that in our Lord's grace through Jesus, this is the step into a new life, a new inheritance! I truly appreciated both your Mom and your Dad. When I was a young fellow in med school they made me feel like I was a somebody. I shall always remember your Dad's kindness in providing me with a summer job in the Arctic for two seasons: an unforgettable experience. Your Mom was a woman of faith and showed remarkable verve in work and in ministry. I wish I could have come to the memorial service today but unfortunately I'm working on the west coast of James Bay at present. May the comfort of the Holy Spirit be yours at this time, and for the entire family.

Condolences to the family of your Mum. She may have been one I met when seeing medical personnel before going to Kenya to work at Kijabe, Kenya under AIM. May the Lord continue to use her expertise.

We in Africa Inland Mission are so grateful to the Lord for the life of Dr. Archibald. As our Board member she counselled and prayed for our missionaries and helped guide our organization. Partly because of her wise direction the Church has mushroomed across Africa. Now she has the joy of meeting a multitude of her African sisters and brothers around the Throne!

Dear Janet and Family,
Please accept our condolences in the sorrow of your loss, and assurance that you haven't "lost" your Mother, because you know exactly where she is: in the loving presence of the Savior.
I remember growing up at Knox Church and knowing where your parents and you sat. I also knew that after the service, they would be ready to greet us and any of the other young people who came by with a hand, a smile, and an encouraging comment or question.
After our student days and wedding, Bernace and I left Toronto to pursue my ministry as a pastor. But we would hear reports from time to time of how your folks were interested in and helpful to our parents and family members there.
Then years later when my Father died, I remember your Mother's very thoughtful gesture. Between the morning family service and the afternoon funeral and burial, she prescribed that it would be good for those of our family who were free to join her and you for lunch at the Granite Club. She was right; it was the perfect oasis of peace and quiet.
And now your Mother herself has reached the Heavenly City, and has the joy of seeing our Savior Himself. Praise the Lord, and may He comfort and strengthen you till that glad day when you too hear the trumpets sound, and all the shadows flee away!
With love and prayers,
Ruth (Rufus) Marescaux

I remember the great doctoring she did for us at Camp Mini Yo We so we could enjoy ourselves and serve well. Now she enjoys her eternal home with Jesus whom she served so faithfully.

Dear Janet, Stuart, Ian and Merrin, My deepest sympathy upon the loss of your dear mother. I know that even in your sorrow you are rejoicing to know that being absent from the body she is now present with her Lord and that we shall one day be with her and your dear father in the celestial city.
Your family was part of the landscape of my world as we grew up together at Knox Church. I could always depend on a hearty greeting from both of your parents ,with that vise-like grip of your father's when we shook hands after church and that twinkle in your mother's eye when she'd ask, "How's Posey?"
It was your mother who gave my name to Africa Inland Mission in 1976 when the were looking for French-speaking teachers to some far-away perfumed islands in the Indian Ocean. Little did she know that the call that I would receive in Quebec City from the mission's director, Rev. Peter Stam, would change the direction of my life! Dr. Archibald was not only on the board of AIM, but she was also on the personnel committee that interviewed me for acceptance to the mission. I still remember how beautifully the committee prayed for me at the end of this interview, sending me out to the islands with their blessing. Later, she and you, Janet, took me shopping for an outfit for Africa. You both picked a brightly-coloured top and skirt with a wild blue, green and orange design which I was determined not to take. Happily, your taste prevailed for I ended up wearing that outfit all the time!
May the comfort of knowing that we are only saying "Au revoir" to your dear mother be yours.
My love and prayers are with you all from Montreal,
Rosemary/Posey

Dr. Archibald was present at Downsview Secondary School where I attended high school. I knew her well as she had sent me to Camp Mini-yo-we for several summers. She gave me a profound love of the Canadian North, choral music, swimming and canoe skills which I enjoy to this very day! Dr. Archibald always remembered me during my years in Toronto and she always had a very special smile for me. It is with sympathy to her loved ones that I send my deepest condolences: Merrin, Janet, Ian and Stuart. I do believe Dr. Archibald lived her life to the fullest as she continuously and with great kindness, acknowledged and supported others over her many years.
With sadness and with sympathy,

We know the death of your mom is hard but we know you are rejoicing in her freedom from pain and she is now in her heavenly home. Every time I visited her she amazed me with her recall of God's Word. She instilled in each of you a love for the Word of God and in turn you have blessed many. Your mom loved the old hymns of faith and it was always with pleasure to start a hymn and she would join in with a strong voice. She leaves behind a family that is a tribute to a life well lived. God has welcomed her home. Her children rise up and call her blessed. Our prayers are with you in these days. Mailon and Dorothy Marshall

Such admiration and love I have developed for this amazing child of God. To know that she is now enjoying the presence of Her beloved Saviour is such a blessing. May each of you as family experience His love and comfort during your time of loss.
