Services for A. D. (Andy) Taylor, 81, of Norman, will be 10:00 AM Monday at the Primrose Chapel with Pastor Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will be at Jamison Cemetery, Shawnee/Jacktown, OK, under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service.He left our world on December 29, 2009 in Norman, OK. He was the oldest of four, born Sept. 12, 1928, to Dewey W. and Sarah Anna (Jones) Taylor near Konawa, OK.His mother passed away when he was young, leaving him to stay home and assist his father in raising his younger brother and two sisters. He helped support his family by working miscellaneous farm jobs.Andy was driving a delivery truck for Steffens Dairy in Shawnee, OK when he met Wanda Quattlebaum. They married Nov. 9, 1949 and raised four children in Shawnee. He was a member of the Shawnee Fire Department and retired after 20 years of service. In addition, he owned and operated used car lots and a paint -- body shop. In 1973, the family moved to Noble, OK where he was self-employed and started Taylor Paint Contracting. In 1974, he moved to Norman and continued as a paint contractor until retiring in 1995.Andy was a very kind and down to earth man. He made sure all of his family was provided for and would give the shirt off his back to a stranger in need. He loved being outdoors and was always in the backyard fixing something. He tended to the birds and any stray cat or dog that crossed his path.Immediate survivors include, a son and daughter-in-law, M. Phillip and Faith Taylor of Macomb; daughter, Dianna L. Taylor of Norman; son, Mitchel A. Taylor of Norman; daughter, A. June Taylor of Norman; grandkids, Katherine Taylor, Angela Taylor, Heather Todd, Tiffany Cook, Adam Taylor, April Cobble Smith, Sarah Tadlock, Matt Reece and Joel Hatzfield; 11 great-grandkids; sisters, Imogene Weece of Dodge City, KS, Goldie Carneal of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bob Taylor; and granddaughter, Michelle Andrea Taylor.Donations may be made in A.D.'s name to Hands Helping Paws, Inc., P.O. Box 1024, Norman, OK 73070.Submitted by family

Andy Taylor knew that all animals have souls. Bless him and all the "souls" that he helped along the way. I am sure there is a place for him to continue working in the Noah's Ark corner of heaven. What a special life has made it "Over The Rainbow Bridge".
