A. Miles

Mr A P Miles, Riddings. Mr Albert Penniston Miles of 12 Frederick Street, Riddings, later of The Meadows Nursing Home, Alfreton, passed away peacefully on Saturday 6th July. Born in Somercotes, Albert was the youngest of 8 children.
From leaving school he had worked at Evans Concrete, a colliery worker and retired from Stevenson Fabric Dyers, Somercotes. Did his National Service 1944 - 1946 in the Sherwood Foresters as an Officers Batman.
He loved his sport, football, cricket, darts, reading a good cowboy book, brass bands and a pint with his friends.
Bereaved are his children David and Pat, son and daughter in law, Kathryn and Pat, Barbara and Dave, daughters and sons in law. Grandchildren Jane, Natasha, Helen, Lisa, Emma, Sophie, James, Michael, Ashley and wife Kyla. Great grandchildren, Josh, Ryan, Chyna, Tyler, Amber, Oscar, Molly and
Bobby-Ray. Mr & Mrs D Miles, nephew and wife, special friend Shirley Hale.
The service took place at The Church of Christ, Riddings then at Markeaton Crematorium conducted by Chris Ibbs.
