Dianne,
I heard about Ted's passing just last night from Annie; what a tragic loss this is. In the short time I got to know him while staying next door, he always had a big smile and kindness beyond measure. Another angel hovers among you all and my deepest regrets that a true gentleman has left far, far too soon.

Ted had the amazing ability to make each of his friends feel special - that was because HE was so special - such an honorable Southern gentleman who loved Diane and each of their children so dearly. Our friendship lasted 54+ years, and I will miss him.

As Kahil Gibran said: "To be able to look back upon one's life in satisfaction is to live twice." There is no doubt that Ted is now looking back, through the eyes of his children and grandchildren, at his own wonderful life and the lives he worked so diligently to protect and enrich. Every man's life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another. Ted distinguished himself as special in so many ways and that is why we grieve today and share your sorrow.

Dear Dianne and and family. You are in my prayers and I will miss Ted greatly. He was a wonderful brother and law to me since 1965' and I have enjoyed the time that we have spent together over the years. Ted has always been special to me and a great role model and a good person to any one around him. Life can be cut so short without any warning and it makes me realize that we should make time for our loved ones while we still have a chance. I love you Dianne and will be here for you. Your brother, Clayton

Dear Dianne and Family,

I was at another man’s funeral, just last Sunday for man who worked for Lowe’s
I was taken back by a Poem called “The dash” In short it is about the line between the dates that represent our life. In thinking of this poem it comes to mind about Teds “THE DASH” it should be very long. He touches some many people’s hearts in way you will never forget. His smile is endless. His stories would never end. I only wish I could read the one’s He left for you all. I loved he hugs; they would make your day. His family was everything to him and he would always ask, cover for him, I need to make a call. It was to you Dianne! He would smile and say thanks. If you needed anything he was there. He talked about watching the Jay Leon show when he got home late and he tried not to wake you. There is so much more!!!
He was not just another Lowe’s Sale person or a Real Estate Man. He was a wonderful husband, A Dad, a Grandfather and a Best Friend and a Great Man. He will always be in our hearts forever. He was my friend and he touched the hearts of my family. Your family has touched our family thought his words and love. His stories, our memories and the love we all have for him will live on. Amos (Ted) Douglas may not be with us here on earth but you will be always be here in our hearts .Given to God and His Angles but Never Forgotten!

God Bless

To the family,
I had the honor of working with Ted at Lowes. I will miss his huge smile and sincere hello that I received everyday! I loved his stories about his life in Florida and his stories of his family. He spoke of you everyday, loved you and was very proud of his family. His Lowes 'family' will miss him very much. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers for the days ahead. Ted is with our Father in Heaven and in our hearts forever.

Dianne, Amy, Aldyn, and Todd (and families)
It seems like only yesterday, we were all at Rolling Green together.
I am so sorry for your loss. I, too, know your pain.
You will each be close in my thoughts and prayers in the coming days. Cherish your special memories of a fine man. May God wrap His loving arms tightly around each of you.
I think perhaps today, my Arland "Mack" and Ted, who both shared such a love of building things, are helping to build those mansions we are promised.
