Mrs Audrey Waldron, of Chesterfield Road, North Wingfield, has died at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, aged 78.
Born at Pilsley and a lifelong resident of the area, she worked as a machinist and a cook at schools.
Mrs Waldron enjoyed bingo, knitting, puzzles, reading, watching rugby league on the television and spending time with friends in Lincolnshire.
The widow of Fred, she leaves two sons, Neil and Malc, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a son, David.
Cremation at Chesterfield takes place today (Thursday) at 2.50pm.
