A.Y. Wallace, Jr., was born on August 16, 1937 in Waco, Texas. He was the fourth child of A.Y. Wallace, Sr., and Elnora (Anderson) Wallace. He was raised in Richmond, California and he graduated from El Cerrito High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Sarah Goone in 1955. Six children were born from this union. After 30 years of marriage she passed away. In 1988 he married Regina Grijalva and has four stepchildren with her. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Opal Davis, his brothers, Aeron Wallace and Jimmy Wallace and two sons, Carl and Roderick. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Regina; his sisters, Helen Howard and Sandra Givens; his brother, Joe Wallace; his children, Darlene Wallace, Charlene Wallace, Paulene Logan and Duane Wallace. Also surviving are his stepchildren, Duane Grijalva, Cheline Fenerty, Teri Wallace and Kenny Fletcher. Additionally 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous extended family. He had two careers during his lifetime – 22 years in the U.S. Air Force and 21 years at the Nevada Test Site as a Medical Administrator. He retired in 1988. In retirement he enjoyed playing golf, pinocle and was an active member of the Las Vegas Military Retiree Association. He was a lifetime 49ers fan. Viewing will be held at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131 on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00AM followed by a funeral service at 1:00PM. A private burial will take place at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City at a later date.
