Hello Lisa,
We go back many years when Adam was a small boy visiting the dentist. He was a good patient and yes, ... funny!
My prayers and deepest sympathy to you and your family. Rest in Peace Adam.

It feels so unreal that Adam is no
Longer with us. My husband and our best friend frequented The Detour for years when we lived in the neighborhood. We could have gone anywhere, but we kept coming back because of the friendship we made with Adam. We shared our entire lives with Adam and he made it feel so easy. This man was one of the most genuine, trusting and funny people I will ever know in my life. The night my husband and I got engaged we drove to The Detour to tell Adam. The night my husband graduated from college at ISU we drove back from Bloomington-Normal and celebrated with Adam. So many birthdays and weekends just unwinding sitting at his bar rail will always be treasured. He is someone I will admire for always giving the best advice and having such admiration for his marriage. He taught my husband and I so much about life and he will forever be missed by us. Adam you were truly one in a million. The pine will miss you behind it, thank you for years of friendship and laughs. We are so lucky to have known you.

I moved out of Illinois 3 years ago which was the last time I saw Adam. We lived in the same neighborhood at the time and I ran into him and Susanne while I was out on a walk with my sister. We chatted for a bit then moved on. I met Adam when I was hired at Granite City. What I remember about most about him was that he always expressed love and admiration for his wife and that he had a sincere kindness that made him feel safe to be around. He was different in the way he held his strength for himself and others that needed that from their manager. He was straightforward and honest and I always respected him. He was pretty funny too. I have nothing but fond memories of Adam. I mostly knew him as a Co-worker and manager. But I feel like I could call him a friend. I´ll miss you Adam. I won´t be at your celebration of life but I do hope you´re one of the people I see again someday in another life....until we meet again. Rest in power

I'm so sorry to learn of Adam's passing. He's a great guy. I knew him through trivia nights at The Detour. He had a generous spirit and a warm smile. He will be missed.

I would not be where I am today without him. He motivated and pushed me to go to Rock Valley College and eventually followed him to Illinois State. He introduced me to my future wife and many life long friends. He always treated me like family and accepted me from the first time we met. He always made me laugh and smile. He always had that great cheesy smile on his face that would always cheer you up! Shared so many great moments and memories of my life with Adam. From Sam´s Christmas parties, to honey loud´s (which he always yelled the loudest), late night cards games at Sam and Lindy´s, nights at pub II and brewhas, pool days at Vernon and Liden, and so many great cubs games! He stood up at my wedding and celebrated with me at every big life event. He truly was a special person and great friend. He had a way of just bringing people together.

Adam and I shared a baseball bond for the love of the game. He knew more about baseball than anybody I know!

He was a friend from the first time I met him at Detour. We always joked and talked about anything and everything (yes, sport of course), went to hockey games, drank beers on our deck, etc. He will always be missed and was what a true friend should be.
