A generous soul, in his life Adam touched the lives of so many. He went deeply and wholeheartedly into his projects, keeping his humility intact.

I was sorry to learn that Adam had passed. He was kind, helpful, and encouraging to me in my research and writing about his father, the artist Ivan Albright. I did not get to know Adam very well, but in the several times over the past two+ decades that I reached out about a question or feedback, he was direct and I always appreciated his response and candor. I send my good wishes for the Albright family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Adam at the Latin School of Chicago, The Hill School, Brown University (where we were in the same fraternity together) and then back in Chicago after college. He was a dear friend who kindly invited me numerous times to his parents’ house during college, where we would ski together. Unfortunately, our contact was broken when I moved to Brussels for work in 1974.
Adam was inevitably affable, fun, generous and socially conscious. Over the years I have thought of him many times and always meant to reconnect, but Chicago and Bend are far apart, so regretfully it never happened.
My best wishes go out to his family and friends who knew and loved him. I know he will be deeply missed, and I will continue to remember the many good times we had together. They always bring a smile to my face.

Adam and I were good friends at The Hill, but reconnected in the summer of 1971 when we attempted to build a log cabin on the side of a recently purchased piece of property in Braintree, Vermont. Don't look for the cabin. We did, however, get very proficient at felling trees, stripping them of their bark and curing them. Very fond memories. Adam was wary of his impending financial windfall. He was always well-centered and I loved him for that. Neither of us knew the Lord back then. I hope he found Him. I look forward to reconnecting with him in heaven.

I am sorry sorry to hear of Adam´s passing. He was such a kind force on NRDC´s board of trustees, always taking a personal interest in the issues and people involved. RIP

I´ll remember Adam for his introspective, kind, and thoughtful presence in his family, who was a second family to me during an important part of growing up. I am thinking of this great family as you mourn the loss of husband, father, grandfather while celebrating his richly textured life, and all he gave to family and community. As time has opened more of the world to me, I think of him worrying and working to preserve our natural world: my first example, perhaps, of such a large and important mission. Thank you Adam for dedicating your life to that.
