ADAM BIELECKI Obituary
I was born in Lincoln, England and passed away peacefully Sunday, April 20, 2014 in my 69th year. I was predeceased by my parents, Aleksander and Ursula Bielecki, to whom I am eternally thankful for instilling a strong sense of ethics, self-discipline, integrity and honesty in me. To my younger siblings Eve and Peter, you were always first in my heart . To my loyal friend and former wife Pamela Jessop and my long-time friend Jack Orchel, I thank you both for your unending support and kindness. I would also like to thank my friends and colleagues who have supported me during my illness. The Juravinski Cancer Centre, Hamilton, where I received my treatment and St. Peter's Hospital, Hamilton, Palliative Care Program, are committed to the health care of their patients and I thank them for the care given to me. I am extremely grateful to my new country Canada for taking a young person like myself and nurturing me, opening a whole new world to me in my career and personal life. In my 48 years in Canada, I have worked with business and community leaders to help transform our country into a vibrant, diverse economy. I have requested that there be no Funeral Service. Rather, I invite you to "hoist one" in my memory. To all of my friends and acquaintances from coast to coast to coast, I hope you will remember me as a loyal friend, one who tried to live his life to the best of his ability and gave full consideration to those around him. A Celebration of Adam's Life will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2265 Headon Road, Burlington, in the Father Stainsby Hall immediately following the 5:00 p.m. Mass. Adam...having known you since I was 18, you played a significant part in my life on and off for many years through good and bad times. I wish I had known of your illness sooner as I would liked to have said goodbye with a big hug and a big thank you for the many years of memories and Harvey Wall bangers.

It is with deep regret that I will be unable to attend the Celebration of Adam's Life on May 24, but my thoughts will again be with him on that day in appreciation and gratitude for his loyalty and friendship throughout childhood, youth and later life.
Adam went on to achieve much success through his pragmatic approach to life. I believe he was an example of what can be achieved by hard work, determination and strength of character but with an overriding concern for those with whom he came into contact.
On reflection, it seems that it was always those happy and carefree days of our youth that we returned in our recollections of times past. One location in particular held a special place in our reminiscences - namely, the Duke of Wellington Inn, Danby, North Yorkshire - where it is my intention to raise a glass and toast his memory.
So dear friend, may you rest in eternal peace until we meet again. As promised I will be waiting by that old packhorse bridge over the river Esk where we spent so many happy days.
My sincere condolences to Ewa and Peter.

Adam was a great friend with whom my relationship grew from my days in Ottawa (Kanata) to his passing. Always there for me with sage advice as my career and personal life evolved.
To Pam Jessop who gave unwavering support to Adam during his illness and in his final weeks, you have my utmost admiration.
Finally, I will miss Adam & I supping English ales in Niagara-on-the-Lake in the last few of years.

I had the pleasure of a dealing with Adam as a professional in my municipal government career which extended to a personal friendship. In my several telephone conversations with him in recent months, he faced his future bravely. My condolences to his family.

Unfortunately we only got to know Adam over the last few years when he faced his many health challenges. However, we will miss certainly miss his stimulating conversations. Not a man to mince words or take fools lightly, Adam was always articulate, erudite, forthright, opinionated but with a keen dry wit.
