Vera Jamison Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 7, 2011.
Vera, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs went to be with her beloved Lord and Savior on November 6, 2011 at the age of 89. She was born on August 22, 1922 in Keota, Iowa to the late Glessi and Bertha Rhodebeck.

Vera married Frank Jamison on December 8, 1944 in Oskaloosa, IA. They were happily married for almost 67 years. Frank was the love of her life. After his retirement they traveled to many places in the United States as well as foreign countries. She loved her Lord and enjoyed serving Him in many capacities at Roswell Community Church. She also treasured spending time with her grandchildren, pulling weeds on the "back bank" and spending time with her family and friends.

Vera is survived by her husband, Frank, sons John (Carolyn), Dan (Terry) and Mike (Sheila). She is also survived by her brother, Keith Rhodebeck, 9 grand children, 17 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wayne Rhodebeck.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 9, from 12:00-1:00 pm at Roswell Community Church, with funeral services starting at 1:00 pm at the church. Entombment will follow at Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Our deepest sympathies. This is how I remember Aunt Vera, always smiling and always encouraging others, even the smallest among us. She continues to be such an inspiration to all of us.
Love,

Our condolences to the Jamison family. We grew up playing with the Jamison boys and spending much time at the Jamison house. We remember birtday parties and Halloween. It seems as though we Parker and Chestnut neighborhood kids had the run of the foothills, but actually all the mothers in the neighborhood were keeping an eye on us. We especially remember Mr. Jamison keeping a watchful eye on us as we played outdoors, even knew we were at "Lollipop Woods". Each mother had a method for calling her kids home. There are fond memories of hearing the "Jamison Bell". We knew Mrs. Jamison was saying it was time to come in for John, Dan and Mike when we heard that bell. We thank her, she will be missed and again our sympathy to the entire Jamison family. Al Kostka, Rosemary, Helen, Kathy and Joe!

We are sorry for your loss. After spending her life helpng and inspiring others, she is now with the Lord. Although physically she has passed on, the memories and inspirations that have become a part of all she has touched will continue to positively inspire and influence not only those still in this life, but also their descendents. She will be missed.

We have thought about Vera many times since we moved from Colorado Springs. Vera was dedicated to raising funds for missionaries. She was a sincere prayer warrior. Vera had a beautiful smile and was kind to all. She will be missed greatly. Jerry and Loretta Chandler
