Adam Todd Foley

Dr. Adam Todd Foley, 36, of New York, NY, passed away on March 7, 2023. He was an intellectual and a highly educated individual, with a great sense of humor and a playful wit. Adam had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, was well-traveled and well-read.

Adam was born on January 16, 1987 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, He grew up in Ephrata and Hopeland Pennsylvania and later Fort Myers Florida. He attended Clay Elementary for his primary education and later Cypress Lake High School. He went on to pursue higher education, earning a degree in classical languages/history from John Carroll University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Adam then continued his academic journey, obtaining his doctorate in history from Notre Dame University. He was recognized for his scholarly achievements and was awarded the prestigious American Academy in Rome Fellowship prize. Recently, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the department of classical studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Adam was both a High School teacher and College Professor. He was much loved and respected by his students and colleagues.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Adam cherished his personal and family relationships. He is survived by his beloved wife, Silvana, his parents Tim and Misty Foley and was a cherished brother to Timothy and Matthew. Adam will be remembered for his intellectual curiosity, his love for his family, and his contributions to academia. His legacy will live on through his scholarly work and the impact he made on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
