Adan Cadena, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Kingsville Rehab and Nursing Center at the age of 77. He was born on December 13, 1939 to Adan Cadena and Emilia Hernandez Cadena in Falfurrias, Texas. Adan was a Falfurrias High School graduate and went on to attend Southwest Texas State University now named Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Adan proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He later became a Bookkeeper /Tax Assessor for Brooks County and retired after over 30 years of dedication.
Adan is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alma E. Martinez and nephew, Rene Martinez, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife Eva Cadena of Falfurrias; son, Adan Cadena, III of Falfurrias, Texas; daughter, Melissa Cadena (Findley) Hamner of Houston, Texas; one grandson, Thomas “Tommy” Hamner and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Leopoldo Vasquez, Joe David Trevino, Jr., Christopher Ramon, Mauricio Rene Garza, Joe David “Trey” Trevino, III and Thomas Findley “Tommy” Hamner.
A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church concluding with military honors.
