Edward L. Farrar, 88, died Sunday, December 27, 2015, at home in Charlottesville from a brief illness. He was born September 19, 1927, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Susie and Wilbert Trusgo Farrar, Sr. He worked in the Restaurant Industry-retiring from The Aberdeen Barn.He leaves his wife, Catherine B. Farrar; four daughters, Edwina Nixon, Christine "Cricket" Farrar of Richmond, Va., Carolyn "Rainy" Johnson, and Carol "Retta" Funn of Charlottesville, Va.; a stepson, Charles "Chinky" Chapman and Kathy of Durham, N.C.; a brother, Wilbert Trusgo Farrar, Jr. of Baltimore, Md.; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; and a devoted sister-in-law, Elsie B. Johnson of Charlottesville.A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Mount Zion First African Baptist Church, 105 Lankford Avenue, with Dr. Alvin Edwards officiating.
