Adrian Paul Roux

(Sept 30, 1943 - August 6, 2024)

At the age of 80, Paul passed away peacefully on August 6, 2024 in Rochester, New York. He was born in Utica, New York and grew up in Rome, New York. Paul served in the Air Force from 1961-1965 at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome and Warren Air Force base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He moved to Rochester, New York in 1968 to work for the Rochester Telephone Company as a telecommunications repair technician. Paul later worked at Eastman Kodak, from where he retired. He resided in Greece, New York for 25 years.

Paul was a nature lover and enjoyed cycling, skiing, walking, vegetable gardening, and watching his birds from his balcony. True to his French heritage, he enjoyed red wine and camembert cheese and was an excellent cook. Paul was a champion at tinkering and could make anything work. If he needed something done, he figured out how to rig it up. Paul loved being a grandfather. He was the grandpa who sat inside the sandbox with his grandkids, chased them around the house, got down on the floor to play, and read them books.

Paul is predeceased by his parents Alexander Roux and Marguerite (Clark) Roux of Rome, New York. He is survived by his partner Bonnie Lentz of Greece, New York, daughter Joellen Putnam (Marty) of Guilford, Connecticut and grandchildren Danielle and Zachary.

Paul's ashes were released into the East River in Guilford, CT on October 19, 2024 in the presence of his family. Contributions are welcome in Paul's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate).
