Agnes M. DeBellis passed peacefully at the age of 94, on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, after a brief hospitalization.

Agnes was born on July 10, 1926, to parents, Antonio and Vittoria DeVito in Newburgh, N.Y. A graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, she worked as bookkeeper at Sears Roebuck and IBM Corporation. Agnes met Adam Peter DeBellis in 1952, at the Poughkeepsie, N.Y. library and they married in November of 1953. In her later years, she resided in Charlottesville, Va., where she attended the Church of the Incarnation and was a member of the Charlottesville Senior Center.

Agnes possessed an indomitable spirit, an optimistic and fun-loving nature, and a deep faith and compassion for others. She was always the life of the party and enjoyed playing board and card games with her family and friends. She is known by all who she touched as a kind, loving and gentle soul. She lived her life in loving service to her family, friends and God.

Agnes was predeceased by her two brothers, Rocco DeVito of Staten Island, N.Y., and Michael DeVito of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; and her beloved husband, Adam.

She is survived by her loving children, John DeBellis and wife, MaryAnn, of Houston, Texas, Anthony DeBellis and wife, Francine, of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, and Victoria Supraner and husband, Scott, of Charlottesville, Virginia; as well as five grandchildren, Andrea DeBellis, Moira Waterfall, Anthony E. DeBellis, Adam Supraner, and Emilia DeBellis. Agnes is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Michael, Jonah, and Maysie Agnes.

Due to the COVID19 pandemic, Agnes' funeral services will be postponed and held later in 2021 in Newburgh, N.Y. In her last wishes, Agnes requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in lieu of flowers. She believed in and supported the wonderful work this hospital does.
