I met Ms Alta in 2010. She was a good friend to me! I could call on her anytime I needed to talk with her! I just learned of her passing today! I will cherish the moments we shared.

I met this wonderful woman and my whole outlook on life had changed. She truly was and forever will be an inspiration to me. Her words were kind and her smile was delightful. I remember her asking me to play her some music... I would stand there and watch her close her eyes and move her hands to the sound of the violin playing. She loved that. I enjoyed watching that bright smile she would have. May she rest in peace and know that she will be deeply missed by many!

Remembering Alta with her joy and ability to tease. Met her in Chicago at RCWP retreat. Her laugh and focused spirit will be missed. Prayers for her family!

Alta blessed and nurtured many people as a woman priest. She was an inspiration to all those who saw the film "Pink Smoke Over the Vatican." Her consciousness of standing in the shoes of Sojourner Truth as she made history as an African American woman priest will continue to bless and challenge the movement she was such an important part of, Roman Catholic Womenpriests-USA.

The women priests and members of the Good Shepherd Inclusive Catholic Community in Fort Myers, Florida mourn the loss of and celebrate the life of our beloved sister priest, Rev.Alta Jacko. Rev. Alta visited us about five years ago and her spirit filled presence enlivened our African-American and diverse congregation with joy. She and her friend stayed in our church house and we were so happy to host her. She is having her glorious Easter now, but our hearts are with those who mourn and will miss her sweet sweet spirit . We believe that she is with us still in spirit and in love. Rev. Judy Lee, RCWP
