Agnes Saunders Obituary
Gillett, PA - Saunders, Agnes Elizabeth (Dalton) age 97 of Gillett, Pennsylvania. Passed away peacefully Thursday, March 8th, 2018 at the Robert Packer Hospital. She was always known as "Elizabeth". She was born on November 12th, 1920, in Harford County, Maryland. She was the eldest daughter of Charles and Ethel Dalton. She married LaRue Saunders on July 9th, 1941, at the Troy Baptist Church in Troy, PA. LaRue and Elizabeth were married for 44 years and resided on the family farm in Gillett, PA. Together, they raised 2 sons and 3 daughters. She is survived by her son, David (Barbara) Saunders, her daughter, Shirley (James) Call, her sister, Mary Ellen (Daniel) O'Neil, her brothers, Robert (Janet) Dalton, John Thomas (Barbara) Dalton, Son in law David Kendall, daughter in law Cleo Osgood, 9 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband LaRue, Daughter Bette Kennedy, daughter Linda Kendall, Son Ronald Saunders, siblings Charles "Buddy" Dalton, and Lucille Hamby. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Tuesday, March 13th, 2018 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Funeral services celebrating Elizabeth's life will be celebrated Wednesday morning March 14th at 11:00AM. The Reverend Mickey Cavanaugh will officiate. Graveside committal prayers will be shared following the funeral service in the Gillett Cemetery.
