Aidan Martinez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 28, 2016.
Martinez, Aidan L.

The family of Aidan Leigh Martinez (November 10,1990 - February 21, 2016) would like to express our sincerest appreciation to our dear relatives and friends. We thank you for the amazing outpouring of support to our family following the sudden loss of our beloved son, Aidan. Please know that your prayers, presence, messages of condolence, kind words, cards, letters, flowers, donations of cash and food are deeply appreciated.

Aidan lived a very short, but fearless life. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM; he attended both St. Pius X High School and Valley High School (2009 graduate) and studied at CNM. He had many friends from different walks of life and he loved them all - those with whom he attended school, played NMAHA ice hockey, skateboarded from Westside Skate Shop, and served while he worked with ISLS as a logistics operator at Sandia National Labs and at WSI as a recycling contractor across the city. He also helped train hundreds of people in mountaineering and rappelling while working alongside his dad throughout the years.

He was a kind and gentle soul who was well respected for his hard-work ethic at his jobs and at his home community of Paguate, NM.

He was loved by many, including his parents, Victor and Natalie Martinez; sister and brother-in-law Christina and Sunrise Enciso; three nieces; as well as numerous family members from Cimarron, Albuquerque, and Paguate, NM.

Aidan loved the adventure of being outdoors and the freedom of skateboarding; he tragically lost his life while doing what he loved.

May you all be blessed many times over for your generosity and support during our time of loss. With sincerest appreciation, Victor and Natalie Martinez and Sunrise and Christina Enciso.

I found a photo of Aidan in his hockey uniform while going through some photos of the kids when they were little.
I remember when he was in diapers and tormenting Rusty.

I have a heavy heart and nothing I could ever say or write would do justice to him. His life was taken but not his memory of who he is or what he meant to those that love him. Obviously he was needed elsewhere...

I'm missing you already Aiden. You were always there to help at my house when I needed muscle. Going with you to see the Scorpions and Dio was the best time I've had at concerts. Thank you for always being the most polite, family man, and helpful person I've ever known. You are with God now and I'll see you soon.

Natalie, I am saddened to hear of Aiden's passing. I recall hearing about his love of hockey from Grandma Lucia and Rose. Although I did not know Aiden, I feel your loss. May Creator wrap his arms around you and your family during this difficult time. You are all in my prayers. Sharon

I will always remember Aidan as that wild and rambunctious toddler who would climb out his crib with long black hair and nothing on but a diaper. He would then proceed to torment "Rusty", and walk around saying (Whoa,Whoa). He then became the very quiet but active young man, he never said a lot but was always polite and very thoughtful of others. We watched him grow, he came out to bless the deer his father shot, watched him play baseball and hockey. He was a fine young man and the world is far worse off without him here. Heaven, however is rejoicing that he is on their team now and I know why they wanted him, he will be great as a spirit to watch over us. Vic, Nat and Christina my heart is sad, Paul Gallegos

I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss. I cannot imagine the loss you must be feeling. I met Aidan briefly but I am happy I met him. He came from a loving family and I am sure he lived life to the fullest. No matter how much we can say and do but that loss, the emptiness will always be there until it is time for us to journey...but know that he touched your being already and you were graced with a child of our Creator. He must have already done his work on earth and it was time for him to go. I believe in the love of our Creator and know that we each have a purpose for a short time here. I pray that you will see a new dawn and when you look to the east, the morning star will shine on you with Aidan's love. He loved you both and his sister plus his brother-in-law and his precious nieces, and grandma. Hugs to you all.
