February 9, 1964 - September 25, 2014
A heart over flowing with love and laughter who brightened the lives of everyone she met is now sharing her love and laughter in heaven. Our beloved Aide "Ida" went to be with our Lord on Thursday September 25, 2014. Through her sense of adventure, never-ending energy, and love for us all, Aide lived a thousand lives. She was one of a kind shining light who never met a stranger. If you ever met Aide, you were going to be her friend, whether you wanted to or not. Aide loved her children more than life itself. She gifted to them a sense of adventure and unconditional love that they will treasurer forever. Family meant the world to her. Her beautiful smile will shine upon us until the day we are reunited. Friends from all walks of life meant the world to her too. Aide saw only the best in everyone and left an eternal impression with her rays of light. Aide's passion for running was boundless. She enjoyed running alone, with friends, and in marathons. She also loved biking, traveling, shopping, throwing parties, and spending time with family and friends. During her military service with the U.S. Army, Aide served our country in Dessert Storm and then continued with the National Guard and U.S. Customs. Ida is survived by her children, Marcus, Alexandria, and Leo Fink and Trevor Hamel. She is also survived by her mother Juana Martinez Luna, sisters Maria Esther Luna, Natalia Luna Ashley (husband Rex), Toni Natoli (husband David), Janie Luna, and Aurora Luna Gustafson, and brother Felipe Luna (wife Angelica). Ida is also survived by many much-loved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Ida was preceded in death by her father Jose Valente Luna and brother Valente Luna. Aide's family would like to thank the Flower Mound Community and our friends and colleagues for their love and heart felt prayers. A celebration of Aide's life will be on Saturday Oct. 4, 2014, 10:00 AM, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 10703 Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78230. I only spoke to Ida briefly while she lived here in Dorval. Our children attended the same elementary school. What I took away from our brief conversations was her fierce protectiveness of her children, her willingness to go above and beyond when there was a problem and her uncanny ability to make friends. I can still see her standing at the corner waiting for her children to get off the bus and saying to my Mom "This lady, this lady is unbelievable. Once you've met her you'll never forget her, ever."

To Leo, Alex and our Godson Marcus,

We are devastated to hear of your mother's passing. There are no words to describe our sadness and sorrow. We remember fondly our times together, from the first day we met when we moved into the neighbourhood on the same day! From that day forward we had countless hours of fun everything from playing outside (your mother hated the cold winters but yet we'd spent hours playing in the snow), Easter egg hunts, lunches, Thanksgiving celebrations (both Canadian and American, anything for a get-together) Christmas suppers and just hanging out. Your mother's care, love and dedication to the three of you was exceptional. We feel your sorrow and your loss and wish we were near by and there for you. You can contact us anytime.

To our beautiful Godson Marcus, we think of you all the time and especially now during this difficult period. You are too young to remember the wonderful times we had together starting with the beautiful sunny day of your baptism and all the celebrations thereafter. We are here for you.

I met Aide when they lived in Harlingen before they left to Canada. Aide you loved life, you were always so sweet and had a warm smile. You were sweet, loving and intelligent. Rest in peace my friend. You ran the last mile straight to heaven.
