Ajay Krishan

Ajay KRISHAN January 29, 1960 November 21, 2009 Ajay Krishan passed away peacefully on November 21, 2009. Ajay was born on January 29th, 1960 in Chandigarh, India and immigrated to Saskatoon with his family in 1967. He is survived by his three children, Amanda, Victoria, and Nicholas; by his father, Kewal Krishan; his sister, Renu and Praveen Narang of Texas, (Akash, Shaan and Tara); his brother, Dr. Vivek Tony and Dr. Reena of Surrey (Priya and Sonia); his sister, Reva and Roopesh Mandavia of Ottawa, (Eshaan, Gia and Shyla); his cousin, Ajay and Vandana Bhusary of Toronto (Ansh and Aryan), and Ajay's Special Friend, Wendy Gowda; and his children's mother; Maria Lynn Freeland. Ajay was predeceased by his mother, Chand Bala Krishan in 2008. Ajay was a successful lawyer and will be missed by his partner, Gord Balon, office staff and long-time legal assistant Lisa Balone. In 2008 Ajay was honoured with a QC appointment. Ajay will be remembered forever by his many contributions to the Prince Albert community, including fundraising for the Prince Albert Field House/Soccer Centre, chairman for Saskatchewan Summer Games, Prince Albert Kinsmen Club and Highnoon Optimist Club, Telemiracle, Prince Albert Winter Festival, Big Brothers/Big Sisters Association and Prince Albert Bar Association. Ajay was honoured with the Prince Albert citizen of the year in 1992 and the Governor General's Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal in 2009. His enthusiasm was appreciated by all who knew him, he enjoyed attending sporting and community events, golfing and travel were all favorite pastimes. Most memorable was his trip to India with his father in 2009. Above all, Ajay was a very proud and supportive parent, keeping up with all of his children's activities, and encouraging academic accomplishments. Ajay was the best dad his children could have ever asked for and an amazing son, partner, sibling, and friend. Dad devoted his entire life caring for others and was always there when we needed him. We loved him and missed him dearly. The family extends appreciation to the friends, physicians and community for their support during this difficult time. Donations in his memory may be made to the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, the Diabetes Association or Kinsmen Telemiracle. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Art Hauser Centre in Prince Albert. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca .
