Akeem R. Payne

Akeem R. Payne, of Milltown, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 33. Born and raised in South Hill, Anguilla, he came to Milltown 7 years ago. He was a staple at the Milltown Golden Lion before it closed. He currently worked at Lory's Lakeside in North Brunswick and doing landscaping. Akeem was known for his infectious smile that would light up a room. He loved reggae music and Bob Marley. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He's predeceased by his uncle Meldford Payne. Surviving is his father and step-mother, Allien "Big Al" and Esther Payne of Milltown, his mother Ballona Carty of London, his brother Kyron Rodgers and Akeel Carty Payne, his sisters Nashika Payne and Daina Rousey; his girlfriend Shari Henry; his aunts Marslyn Carty, Grace Carty Vanterpool, Jaqueline Dagou, Emilyn Carty, and Lindy Carty; his uncles Dwight Carty, Leo Carty and Alvin Payne; his cousins Chanelle Carty & family, Tennesha Carty, Elvet Carty & family and Jamel Carty; and his niece Rachel A Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, July 2nd, from 2:00 – 5:00 pm, at The Crabiel Home for Funeral, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.
