Aki Aleong Obituary
Aki Aleong, a character actor whose career spanned eight different decades and included films like "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" and "Missing in Action III," died June 22, 2025, at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 90.
Aleong got his start on screen in the 1950s, and once he began acting, he never stopped, with his last roles coming in the 2024 two-part "My Redneck Neighbor" series. Over the years, audiences saw him in dozens of shows and movies spanning every era, from 1960s shows like "Dr. Kildare" and "The Outer Limits" to 1980s classics like "As the World Turns," "The A-Team," and the miniseries "V," in which he played Mr. Chiang, as well as modern shows like "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Roswell," and many more.
An entirely different audience knew him for something else: music. Aleong was a singer and songwriter who co-wrote the 1958 doo-wop song "Shombalor" by Sheriff & the Ravels, among others.
"It was an honour and a privilege to listen to this man's decades challenges, struggles & perseverance in the fickle US entertainment world," fan Aida King said on the social media platform X. "Being 90 and both Trini and East Asian, one could imagine what he witnessed & experienced."

I'm very sad to learn of the passing of this fine actor. The first thing I saw him in was two episodes of the original "The Outer Limits." I became a real fan after seeing him play the recurring role of "Mr. Chiang" in the "V" TV series. Rest in peace.
