We are heartbroken. Saskia and Matteo spent many hours on the court with Alan. He was not only an excellent coach but also their mentor and friend. On and off the court he was always patient and positive, he always believed in their abilities and knew how to encourage them. We know how hard it was for Alan to be on the court every day, despite his pain and how much he tried to stay healthy. He never complained and we admire Alan for his strong will and his always positive attitude. He loved his family and all our memories wouldnt have been possible without the love and support of Nicole and his kids and family. We are forever grateful for what Alan teached us on the court and for life. He had to leave too early and he will be terrible missed, but always be in our memories. God bless you Nicole, Keefer, Cecilia and family.

There are no words to describe how grateful our family is to have had the last 6 plus years with Alan. He was always there for our son regarding his tennis game. He would check in during tournaments and offer words of wisdom. He was also an amazing conversationalist. Always loved talking to him. We will miss you deeply but will never forget you. Rest In Peace friend.

Words cannot express the sadness we feel with Alans untimely passing. He was a wonderful coach, mentor and a dear friend who will be sorely missed. It just seems like yesterday when our son Ronit came to Queen City for the first time as a 10 year old, and went down on the courts to play under Alans watchful eyes. He was a constant in Ronits life and taught him so much beyond tennis for the last 7 years. Even through his sickness, Ronit could always count on seeing Alan at the club; If there was ever a time that he needed him, he would always be there. Such was Alans commitment and love for his students and we are heartbroken that we will not see his familiar face at the club. Alan will be fondly remembered forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nicole, Kiefer, Cece and the Aure family during this trying time.

Although we weren't always in constant touch, Alan was like a brother to me in many ways. Every time we met up, we'd pick up like it was just yesterday. He was a truly great human being, and he's in a much better place.

Alan was a life force for me and my girls, Caroline and Meredith, during the most difficult five years of our lives.

He was a beacon of light. Strength. Our go to and as my Caroline said, felt like a second dad.

I will never forget Alan and Nicole's Wedding - one of the most joyous occasions ever.

We are so better and fortunate to have had him in our lives and will miss him terribly.

With love always ~ Gina, Caroline, Meredith.

Alan was a coach and mentor to me throughout middle and high school. He taught me lessons on the tennis court about life and how to treat others with respect and dignity. He would come to the tennis club even when he was sick to mentor us, to teach us, and helped us grow as individuals. He taught us how to fight. His passing is heart-breaking but I know that those of us who have been inspired by him will continue to live out his character. Sending my thoughts and prayers to his family and friends at this difficult time.

My son, RJ, had the pleasure of having Alan give him a lesson every Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 for two and a half years. In addition, he participated in Alans clinic over that same time frame. During this period, Alan was fighting his cancer. He missed some days, but always had someone cover for him. He fought and fought and many days you could see he was not well. But he was still there with a smile and a great attitude. I hope Nicole knows how much his students loved and respected him. I also hope that Kiefer and Cecilia will know what a great Dad they had.
Heaven is a better place with Alan in it, but QCRC will always be more empty without Alan. God bless the Aure family.
