Alan D. Filon

Alan D. Filon of Needham died on Monday November 15 at the North East Specialty Hospital in Waltham. He was 51 years old. Mr. Filon was born and grew up in Needham. He was a graduate of Needham High School Class of 1969 and North Adams State College. Alan was a former employee of Houghton Mifflin Publishing Company in Boston. He was also an avid Red Sox fan. The loving father of Bradley J. Filon of Needham, he was the beloved son of Shirley F. (Morton) Filon of Needham. He also leaves his sister Linda J. McIntosh of Needham and his nieces and nephew, Stacey Shaughnessy of Needham, Kimberly Payne of South Natick and Scott D. Wade of Needham. Funeral Services at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Needham on Friday November 19 at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours on Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment at Needham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in Alan's name may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston MA 02115.
