I was lucky enough to have met him. He was surprisingly humble and kind. After I read a couple of business books, I learned that a great leader must rely on others to accomplish anything. Alan was the consummate CEO in that he was down to earth despite his status. I have remembered this lesson for years. Thank you Alan for your brilliant leadership and commitment to philanthropy. You will be deeply missed. RIP.

I was so saddened to hear of Alan´s passing. He believed in me as a coach and supported the commitment I made to URI by making his own commitment to the tennis program. I am forever grateful for his support and generosity. Among the best (GOAT!) of giving to others. Will miss my thanks each year to you on Thanksgiving.
