ALBERT DEMEO Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 20, 2013.
DEMEO--Albert V. Brooklyn Law School mourns the passing of Professor Albert V. DeMeo. He was a beloved colleague, teacher and friend. A member of the Class of 1934, Professor DeMeo joined the faculty in 1961. He taught a wide variety of courses over the next four decades, before retiring in 1999. Prior to joining the faculty, Professor DeMeo was an Assistant United States Attorney in the EDNY and an Assistant District Attorney in Kings County. The Law School celebrated his 100th birthday on April 26, 2011 with his friends and former colleagues. Professor DeMeo touched the lives of thousands of Brooklyn Law students and friends over the years and he will be missed. We extend our deepest sympathy to his son Robert and his entire family. "Grandpa" would call us every other month to order firefighting books to be sent to his grandson. It was indeed an honor to speak with him for a few minutes at a time. Rest in peace, Grandpa

Thank you to Brooklyn Law School for publicly remembering Prof. Al DeMeo, such a fine man and such a fine teacher. I remember him fondly from working at BLS in the early 1980's and he and I would often have a quiet early morning chat each day. He was thoughtful, caring, and so generous to the students there. He was devoted to his family and to the law. He was a remarkable man and one who will not be soon forgotten.
