Of Squirrel Hill, on Thursday, October 21, 2010; Husband and soul mate of Rita Heiss Mellinger. Loving father of Elise (Elliott) Wu, Leonard (Becky) Mellinger and Louis (Beth) Mellinger. Grandfather of Paige Mellinger, Brandon Anthony and Eitana Wu. Services at RALPH SCHUGAR CHAPEL, INC., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Sunday at 1 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services (12 Noon - 1PM). Interment Torath Chaim Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hillman Cancer Center, 5115 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh , PA 15232.

As I just discovered the news of Jacks passing, it brings great sadness to my heart. I have very fond memories of Jack. I will always remember our trips the “All Ours” in Conneaut. Doing things like; going to check out the fish at the overspill and throw in bread. He was always very good to me and treated me like family. I remember how hard he worked, getting up early to make deliveries and provide a great life for his family. I always admired Jack and respected him. Please accept my deepest condolences as they are from the bottom of my heart. He will always be remembered in my heart as long as I shall live.

Lou and Rita,
I am deeply saddened about the loss of Jack. I have few but fond memories of time together at your home and up at Conneaut (especially having donuts with Lou, Jack and Ira). May you rejoice in his life more than you mourn his death. My deepest sympathies!
