Albertha Henderson McClay, age 85, died peacefully at home on Sunday, August 2, 2015.Religious services will be held Friday, August 14, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Bethany World Prayer Center, 13855 Plank Rd., Baker, LA. A mother of eight children, married for 45 years to Wilbert McClay Sr. A devout christian and homemaker. Born in White Castle, LA to William and Odeal Smith Henderson. Albertha married U.S. Naval Veteran Wilbert McClay Sr., in 1947. To this union eight children were born matriculating in such fields as medicine, education, law, engineering, literature and writing, and quality management.Survived by a brother, Albert Henderson; and children, Wilbert Jr., Odeal, Regina, Carlton Sr. (Vurlia), Cheryl and Yvette McClay; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.Preceded in death by parents, William and Odeal Smith Henderson; husband, Wilbert McClay Sr.; a daughter, Dorothy McClay; a son, Flannigan McClay; and two sisters, Eolia Joseph and Ethel Block.Funeral Services entrusted to Winnfield Funeral Home.
