Alesia Williams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 4, 2025.
Alesia Marie Williams, 59, of Lexington Park, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital after a long and courageous battle with health issues.

Born on December 11, 1965, Alesia was the beloved daughter of Hazel Williams and the late Daryl Williams Sr. She lived a life filled with love, warmth, and quiet strength. Alesia was known for her love of reading, her joy in spending time with family, and her passion for cooking. Though her health challenges limited many of her activities over the years, her spirit remained steady and full of hope. She faced every trial with a positive outlook and a kind heart.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daryl Williams Sr.; her brother, Daryl Williams Jr.; her loving nephew, Tyler Mattingly; her brother-in-law, Troy Mattingly; and several beloved grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Alesia is survived by her devoted mother, Hazel Williams; her daughter, Candace Snavely (Jimmy); her son, John Snavely (Sahra); her sister, Terri Lynn Chaplin (Del); her brother, Raymond "Bud" Williams (Jane); and her granddaughter, Emma Snavely. She leaves behind many more family members and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

The family is deeply grateful for the care and compassion shown by Alesia's home care nurse, Amanda, who held a special place in her heart over the past two years, and by the many doctors and nurses at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and MedStar St. Mary's Hospital for their compassionate care.

Alesia will always be remembered as a kind and loving soul, with a gentle heart and a resilient spirit. Her mother fondly remembers how she never let a day go by without saying, "I love you, Mom."

Her legacy of love and strength will live on in all who knew her.

A celebration of Alesia's life will be held on Sunday, May 25, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, located at 45779 Fire Dept. Lane, California, Maryland. We would love for you to join us in honoring her beautiful life.
