Alex Medich, 77, of Duquesne, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, in Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born July 8, 1926, in Adamsburg, a son of the late Gavrisha and Marija Boban Medich. He is survived by his wife, Olga N. Ilich Medich; three sons, Dane A. Medich, of North Huntingdon Township, Lex J. Medich, of White Oak, and Lance A. Medich, of Bethel Park; two daughters, Cissy Medich, of Scottsville, Ky., and Denise M. Reetzke, of Franklin, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Rachael, Meredith, Daniel, Angelica, Alec and Luke; brothers and sisters, Gabe Medich and Alice Cheke, of West Mifflin, and Diane Drobac, of Jefferson Hills; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William "Zvonko" Medich. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JENNIFER S. JORDAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak. A blessing will be offered in the funeral home Saturday at 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. in St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, McKeesport, with the Very Rev. Rodney Torbic and the Very Rev. D.C. Malich as concelebrants. Interment to be held in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Sava Camp Shadeland, c/o St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 901 Hartman St., McKeesport, PA 15132.
