Alexander Lynde Cochrane III

Alexander Lynde Cochrane III of Chicago passed away on May, 6, 2025. Known as Lynde to his childhood community and Alex to those after, he was a treasured father to Frances Lynde Cochrane, and a beloved husband to Lisa Rose Simonian. Alex was the son of the late Alexander Lynde Cochrane II and the late Virginia Lunding Coulter, stepson to the late James Russell Coulter, and adored brother to James Yates Coulter, Shaun Reid Coulter, Leigh Stuart Hayden, Vivian Cochrane Kinney, Elizabeth ("Lizzi") Pickman Cochrane, and Jean Neil Coulter.

An alum of Avon Old Farms, the University of Colorado, Boulder, and the University of Mississippi, he was a dedicated and long-time employee of WL Engler Distributing. Alex was a talented athlete and sportsman, spending many years playing hockey and skiing. He also loved to cook and was happiest in his kitchen, preparing meals for family and friends.

Alex will be remembered most for his good nature, generosity, kind-heartedness and his ability to make everyone in the room feel special and included. He epitomized friendship and will be greatly missed by the many different people he touched throughout his life.
