Alexander Lamb Ross

Alexander "Sandy" L. Ross Jr., 93, of Pittsboro, NC and Deering, NH passed away peacefully on September 9, 2024. Sandy grew up in Ridgewood, NJ and was a Yale and Harvard Law School graduate. While at Harvard he met the love of his life, Jean (Miller) at a Radcliffe dance. They were married for 47 years before her passing in 2004. They raised their three sons in Milton, MA and were active members of the Milton Hoosic Club.

Sandy loved his summers as a camper and then counselor at Camp Pemigewassett in NH where he excelled as an athlete and began his life long lake ritual of the "morning dip". He encouraged family and friends to partake in the "dip" at Loon Alley Lodge, his summer residence for over 50 years. Sandy loved NH, the Boston Red Sox, a three finger scotch, The Globe puzzles and an afternoon nap. After practicing law as a partner at Warner & Stockpole for many years, he retired to North Carolina and became a devout UNC Tar Heels fan, attending many sporting events. His greatest pride and joy was his family, sons David (Moira), Doug (Alison), and Alex (Michele) and 8 grandchildren (Brendan, Bryan (Nicole), Kathryn, Grady, Jack, Bradley, Cameron, and Lexi). Sandy will be missed very much. There will be a private family celebration of his life.
