1981-2017
Alexandra Lacy Friel, age 36, passed away on July 2, 2017. Born on April 10, 1981, she was the beloved daughter of Maria G. Lacy and the late Nelson F. Lacy. Alexandra graduated from The Kinkaid School in 1999 and the University of Texas in 2003. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.
Alexandra was preceded in death by her father Nelson F. Lacy; paternal grandparents Melvin F. and Ruth Lacy and maternal grandparents L. Alberto and Blanca P. Granja. She is survived by her husband Jeremy M. Friel; her mother Maria G. Lacy; her brother Bradford M. Lacy, his wife Siphti S. and stepsons Nehal and Akaal Othee; aunts Jeannette Granja and Sonja L. Layton; cousins Tonja Brown and Connor, Holden and Evan Brown; and godchildren Joshua and Hannah Jameson.
A special Mass of Christian Burial was held on July 8, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church and a private service at St. Martins Episcopal Church on July 9, 2017. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Kinkaid School and Camp Mystic for Girls.

My heart broke when I heard about the loss of my good friend and honorary little sister Alexandra. I'll always remember how funny she was. She always had the abiltily to make me laugh no matter what. She was also one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I'll always remember the days we spent together as teenagers, spending late nights around the vent at Potomac and listening to music - mainly Sublime (her favorite back in the day.)I am so sorry for the great loss that Jeremy, Maria and Brad have suffered. I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers. She was truly a one-of-a-kind, special person and the world is a darker place without her.
