Mr. C you were an inspiration and wonderful mentor for me as well for all those that came to know you. You always went out of your way to assist anyone who needed advice and counseling to go forth into a path of success and enjoy what life had to offer. I continually remember you and your family throughout the years since I moved away.
I'll never forget all the laughs, jokes and pranks you pulled on us. Your the man! I know you have everyone up there entertained. RIP Al!

Rest in peace Mr. Cardenas, my mentor If it hadn't been for you I probably wouldn't have graduated back in 1974. You believed in me and you push until I had my diploma. My respects to a great man.... Thank You.

I have never met a man with the dedication, determination, tenacity and love that Mr. Al Cardenas possessed. No one could ever know how many lives he touched at SISD. His legacy will continue through those students, teachers, family and friends who he mentored, inspired and loved dearly. May he rest in eternal peace with the satisfaction of knowing he accomplished what God put him on this earth to do!

Al,
You were a great leader and an inspiration to all who worked for you and knew you. I can say with confidence that I woulkd not have become the successful teacher I am today without your nurturing and mentoring, and, oh yes, that occasional butt kicking! I will miss the reunions, the talk about old times, the Dallas Cowboy stories, all of the politics, but most of all, I will miss El Jefe! God has received a great man in heaven, forever rest in peace Al Cardenas.
