Last night at our poker game we were discussing Doc remembering what a great guy he was....we have a tradition of starting off our game with playing Docs favorite game as we do with other former players who have passed. Nice memories !

Hey Doc, a poker game doesn't go by without remembering you. We deal your favorite game at least one hand each game ! You will never be forgotten my friend !

Dr. Perna was my dentist for years. He was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed. Sending thoughts and prayers to his family.

Mrs. Perna and family, So sorry to hear about the passing of the Doc. It was always interesting and usually fun talking to him. I know he will be missed by many. He was a wonderful man.

"Doc" will be missed by his loyal Friday night poker buddies for his positive spirit even in times of failing health.Truly a great guy who will not be forgotten. In his honor we will start our game with one of his favorite poker games.

It was always so much fun working with Dr. Perna at Perna Dental. My thoughts and prayers are with you Theresa, Aunt Diane, Dr. Mike, Fonz, and the whole Perna family. You are a beautiful family may you find comfort in each other now and in the weeks and years to come.

Even with his dental mask on, I could tell he was smiling by his happy eyes! “Uncle Al” always made you feel comfortable with his kindness and sense of humor. Having been a patient at this practice for over 50 years, I truly admire Dr. Perna’s great personality and professionalism. My sincere sympathies to the family.

Dr Perna was a one of a kind, gentle, caring, very sweet man. I can remember being in agony while dispatching for BPD with a bad tooth, but too afraid to see a dentist. His son, Fonz, was also working and he called his Dad and convinced me to go after work. Dr Perna stayed after hours to see me and get me the help I needed. His son Mike is the same way. I cherish the fact that I was one of Dr Perna's patients. His entire office was a reflection of him...caring and kind. My heartfelt sympathy to Dr Perna's entire family.

I will miss Al's contagious smile and just overall likeable personality. My condolensces to the entire family and friends. He made any meeting more informative and when we had meetings in Ithaca, he was always helpful.

Your Dad was always a professional and enjoyed working for him and all his colleagues when we did trips to Syracuse and NYC for the NYS Sixth Judicial Dental. I loved Dr. Perna so much. Going to the Dentist was never my favorite thing to do, but he almost made it fun. I really looked forward to seeing him. He always had a story to tell, and would laugh at his own jokes. Before you knew it, you were done! The last time I saw him was at Lourdes around last year, when I came in to give him Communion. We had such a nice chat, and he was so congenial, as always. That's how I'll remember him. My condolences to the family.

We are very sorry for your great loss Theresa and Mary Ellen and families. I did not know him well but he must have been a very nice person. I know you will miss him.
