Even with his dental mask on, I could tell he was smiling by his happy eyes! “Uncle Al” always made you feel comfortable with his kindness and sense of humor. Having been a patient at this practice for over 50 years, I truly admire Dr. Perna’s great personality and professionalism. My sincere sympathies to the family.

Dr Perna was a one of a kind, gentle, caring, very sweet man. I can remember being in agony while dispatching for BPD with a bad tooth, but too afraid to see a dentist. His son, Fonz, was also working and he called his Dad and convinced me to go after work. Dr Perna stayed after hours to see me and get me the help I needed. His son Mike is the same way. I cherish the fact that I was one of Dr Perna's patients. His entire office was a reflection of him...caring and kind. My heartfelt sympathy to Dr Perna's entire family.

I loved Dr. Perna so much. Going to the Dentist was never my favorite thing to do, but he almost made it fun. I really looked forward to seeing him. He always had a story to tell, and would laugh at his own jokes. Before you knew it, you were done! The last time I saw him was at Lourdes around last year, when I came in to give him Communion. We had such a nice chat, and he was so congenial, as always. That's how I'll remember him. My condolences to the family.
