ALFONZO "JERRY"
Peacefully on August 29, 2003, son of the late Oscar and Rosie Lee Bailey Edwards, Sr.; beloved cousin of Larry C. Jackson; aunts Minnie Lee Bailey and Willa May Bailey; brother-in-law Warren Walker Sr.; sister-in-law Marie Edwards; nieces, nephews, cousins; a host of family members and beloved friends. He was a Technician with the IRS of Pittsburgh, a member of Good Hope Baptist Church where he served on the trustee board and a board member of the Wemco Club. Visitation Tuesday 6-9pm in the NEW SAMUEL E. COSTON FUNERAL HOME, 427 Lincoln Ave., E. Liberty. Funeral Services will be Wedneday at 11 from the Good Hope Baptist Church, 415 Lincoln Ave., East Liberty. Rev. Bruce Foster Officiating.

My sincere condolences to the family of Alfonzo. I knew Alfonzo, and his family when he was a young child who lived in my Pittsburgh neighborhood. He was affectionately called "Brother" by our family. It truly saddens me to have learned of his passing. I join the Ware and Edwards family in this time of sorrow. We take comfort in remembering his love of life and in knowing "Brother" is in God's Care.

I am so very sorry to hear about Alfonzo.....he certainly brought laughter and morale to the workplace....and kindness also.....he really had me fooled on Bring Your Child To Work Day, when he brought his "buddy"..... he will be terribly missed...so glad to have had the opportunity to know him.....

I was so very sorry to read tonite about Alphozo's death. He will be missed by his co-workers at the IRS. He was always a help to me in the workplace and I pray he is at peace from any pain or suffering he had. I am truly sorry for the loss of Alphonzo. I will miss him, says it all... Last year,I had the pleasure of sitting next to him at work. It made you feel like you knew him all of your life....and he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed assistance. He was fun to be around, and had a way of making his opinion known, when he felt an injustice was being done, to a friend or fellow employee. Yes, I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with "Al" and all of his family. For everyone who knew him, you know that there is a very special place that our Creator has reserved for him, he is going home...
