Alfred Audet Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 17, 2011.
Alfred Joseph Audet, native of Concord, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 15, 2011, in his adopted home of Anaheim, Calif.

Alfred was born Oct. 12, 1921, son of Henry and Marie-Ange of Concord. He graduated from Concord High School and entered the Marine Corps in 1942. He served for three years as a sergeant and was honorably discharged on Jan. 8, 1946.

After leaving the service, he married the former Inez Arata and settled in Concord. He attended the University of New Hampshire, where he studied restaurant management and oenology, the study of wines. He was manager of his father-in-law's Italian restaurant, Angelo's Restaurant, until the establishment was displaced by the urban renewal. He then became general manager of the Ramada Inn on the same site until moving to California in 1979. He worked in several restaurants before his retirement in 1984. With retirement, he enjoyed vacations with his wife and family, golf, card games and other sports.

Alfred is survived by his wife of 64 years, Inez; his daughter and her husband, Janice and Kevin Yanoscik; his son and his wife, Thomas and Lilian; grandchildren, Cameron, Jennifer and Jacqueline, all of California; two sisters, Pauline Astles and Rita Georginia; brother-in-law, Angelo Arata and wife, Elaine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be inurned at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, following a military funeral honors ceremony on July 6. Services at St. Ireneaus Catholic Church are pending.
