ROSE E. MILLS JUN 12, 1914 - JUL 18, 2010 On July 18, 2010 Rose Mills passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, at her residence in Reno, NV. Rose was born June 12, 1914 in Ripon, CA to Joseph and Pacifica Luchessa. In 1936 Rose married William R. Mills (Bill), shortly thereafter the couple moved down the road to Modesto, CA and welcomed a son (Lenord). Rose and Bill purchased a small 1 acre ranch'' around 1940 which remained home until Rose moved to Reno in 2006 to be close to family. Rose was happiest in the company of family and in the keeping of a fine and happy home. What many today may view as work or tasks were Rose's chosen talents and hobbies. She had a love of gardening that had her planting and tending up until just weeks before her passing. She excelled as a baker, cook and seamstress, but may have been most talented at her favorite career choice of being a wife, mother and grandmother. Rose was preceded in death by her husband William R. Mills and her brother Chester Luchessa. Her smile, guidance, stability, love and meatloaf (among so many other things) will be truly missed. Rose is survived by her son Lenord W. Mills and his wife Muriel Vella Mills, granddaughter Teena Mills Tuttle and her husband Kevin Tuttle, grandson Timothy W. Mills and his wife Sheila, grandson Christopher L. Mills and his wife Jane, granddaughter Katie Rose Mills, great granddaughter Sarah Mills Humphreys and her husband Marshall, great grandsons Timothy W. Mills JR, Nolan R. Mills and Tanner C. Mills, and great-great grandson Conner Humphreys, all of Reno; a niece and two nephews of CA, and countless cousins. A visitation is scheduled at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel in Modesto on Sunday July 25 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A Catholic mass will be held at 10:00 am Monday July 26 at Our Lady of Fatima parish in Modesto, with burial service immediately following at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery Modesto.
